Gynecomastia Surgery (Male Breast Reduction)

Gynecomastia is the abnormal, benign enlargement of breast tissue in men. It often occurs without a serious underlying condition, but is caused by factors such as puberty, aging, the use of certain medications, hormonal fluctuations, genetic predisposition, or weight gain.

It can be unilateral or bilateral. In addition to causing visual discomfort, it can negatively impact a person's self-esteem and social life. Surgery is a permanent and effective solution.

Before surgery, the plastic surgeon evaluates the type and cause of the enlargement. The surgeon then evaluates the extent of excess fat, breast tissue density, and any sagging skin, and selects a method that includes liposuction, tissue removal, or a combination of both. The procedure typically takes 1–2 hours under general anesthesia, and the patient is usually discharged the same day.

A special corset is worn for four weeks after surgery; you can return to your daily routine within a few days. Weight control and healthy lifestyle habits are important for the longevity of your results.

Gynecomastia surgery isn't just an aesthetic change; it's a significant step toward improving a person's quality of life. For a detailed evaluation, please contact our clinic.
