Breast Lift
Factors such as aging, childbirth, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, and gravity can cause breast sagging. This can cause both physical discomfort and aesthetic concerns. Breast lift surgery (mastopexy) removes excess skin from sagging breasts and reshapes the breast tissue, achieving a more youthful, firm, and proportionate appearance.
A breast lift is generally performed on patients over 18 years of age and in good health. Depending on the degree of sagging, the procedure may be combined with a silicone implant. The doctor determines the most appropriate surgical method by evaluating breast size, tissue quality, and the patient's expectations.
The surgery takes approximately 2–3 hours under general anesthesia. For mild sagging, implant placement alone is sufficient, while for severe sagging, separate incisions are made at the nipple and below the breast to reshape the breast. You may stay in the hospital for one day after the procedure; you can resume light activities within one week and return to your normal routine after 4–6 weeks.
Wearing a surgical bra, protecting the incision scars, avoiding the sun, and following regular checkups will all support the healing process. While the surgery has permanent effects, factors such as future pregnancies, weight fluctuations, or aging can cause sagging to reoccur.
