Bichectomy (Hollywood Cheek Aesthetic)

A bichectomy is a cosmetic procedure performed for individuals seeking to enhance their facial features and achieve a slimmer appearance. This procedure involves removing the Bichat fat pads within the cheeks. Also known as the "Hollywood Cheek," this procedure highlights the cheekbones, giving the face a slimmer, more youthful, and more proportionate appearance.

A bichectomy is usually performed under local anesthesia and takes approximately 45 minutes. The plastic surgeon removes excess fat through a small incision inside the mouth and completes the procedure with self-dissolving stitches. The patient is discharged the same day and can return to their daily routine within 3–5 days.

During the recovery period, eating soft foods, maintaining good oral hygiene, and applying cold compresses regularly will accelerate healing. Stitches are not removed; they will dissolve on their own. The facial changes begin to become apparent in approximately three weeks, with full results appearing within two to three months.

Bichectomy is suitable for individuals over the age of 25 who have unclear facial features, overly full cheeks, and who want to achieve facial symmetry. It is highly durable; as long as the patient maintains a balanced weight, the resulting appearance will last for many years.
