Treatment of Under-Eye Bags
Under-eye bags are a common aesthetic problem caused by factors such as aging, genetic predisposition, lack of sleep, stress, and smoking, making people look tired and older. Over time, this can also affect vision. Treatment for under-eye bags not only improves aesthetic appearance but also improves quality of life.
Surgery for under-eye bags is usually performed under local anesthesia. Excess fat and worn muscles are removed through incisions made at eyelash level or on the inside of the eyelid, and excess skin is also removed if necessary. The procedure takes approximately 1–2 hours and leaves no visible scarring. Stitches are removed 4–5 days after surgery, and most patients can return to their daily routines within a week.
Swelling and edema are normal during the healing process; cold compresses, sleeping on a raised pillow, and maintaining good hygiene will accelerate healing. For the first two weeks after surgery, strenuous exercise and exposure to potentially infectious environments, such as the sea or pool, should be avoided. It's important to protect yourself from the sun and maintain regular checkups.
This surgery provides permanent results; most patients experience years of relief from this condition with a single procedure. Although the procedure is performed around the eye, it does not affect vision. Contact us for a thorough evaluation and personalized surgical planning.
