Almond Eye Aesthetics (Cantoplasty)
Almond eye surgery is a surgical procedure that gently lifts the corners of the eyes to create a more attractive and youthful appearance. Also known as canthoplasty, this procedure lifts the outer corners of the eyes, creating a lifted, almond-shaped appearance. It also helps alleviate a tired look and correct sagging around the eyes.
This procedure can be performed on both men and women over the age of 18 who are in good general health. The surgery, performed under local or general anesthesia, takes approximately 30–60 minutes. A small incision is made at the outer edge of the eyelid, and the tissue is lifted and secured to the periosteum. The procedure leaves virtually no scarring.
The patient can be discharged the same day after surgery and can return to their daily routine within 2–3 days. For the first week, the eye area should be protected from impact, and makeup and intense facial expressions should be avoided. It takes approximately 10 days for the eye to reach its final shape.
The longevity of the surgery depends on the patient's aging process and skin elasticity. Surgical almond eye lifts are much more permanent than non-surgical procedures like thread lifts. Depending on the patient's needs, the plastic surgeon may also combine this procedure with procedures such as a brow lift or midface lift.
When performed with the right patient selection and by an experienced surgeon, almond eye aesthetics offers both natural and impressive results.
